Center Church has a long and meaningful history in East Earl Township. The congregation traces its roots back to 1777, when the site became known as “Center Church” because of its central location between the Lancaster County churches at New Holland and Muddy Creek, and the Allegheny and Forest (Plow) churches in Berks County. For many generations, the property was shared by both the Reformed and Lutheran congregations.
The present church building was constructed in 1872, continuing the legacy of worship and community life on this historic site.
In 2025, due to the growth of the Muddy Creek congregation, a new worship location was sought to support a growing congregation and on September 7, 2025, the first Mennonite church service was held in the building—marking the beginning of a new chapter for Center Church.
Ministry Team:
Jolan Martin — Bishop
Clinton G. Burkholder — Minister
Richard Hoover — Retired Minister
